Title: Public Health Preparednesss Program

The Public Health Preparedness Program aims to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies and threats. We work closely with regional, state, and federal partners to acquire knowledge and training necessary to respond to events like disease outbreaks (such as pandemic influenza), bioterrorism (such as anthrax or smallpox), high path avian influenza, and other natural and human-caused threats to our health. During natural disasters, the Preparedness Program works to coordinate safe drinking water, food and shelter in times of need.

We help connect people with the resources they need to be prepared. We educate the community on public health threats and how to be prepared for them. We train our Public Health and Human Services staff on how to respond to such events. We work across sectors to assure the health and safety of the EBCI community.

What YOU can do to be prepared:

Prepare a basic emergency kit for your home, your car, and your work place.

Make a plan for you and your family.

Stay informed.
